Ned Berry takes his Great Big Feet to Glasto

Ned Berry

Great to hear that Ned Berry (OW 2009) will be performing with his band Great Big Feet at the Glastonbury Festival this year.

Ned started the group two years ago with Tim Maryon (OW 2008) to create a platform for their favourite music; jump-blues and early swing from the 1920's through to the 1940's. Tim plays the piano and Ned plays drums and sings. They also have a guitarist, bass player and often use brass as well. The band plays music from the likes of Louis Jordan, Big Mama Thornton, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. They also write their own tunes; reworked boogie and blues with a modern twist.

They play up and down the UK but are coming back to the West Country this summer to play at Glastonbury. The gig is on the Sunday afternoon at 3pm at The Rabbit Hole. They want to see it full of familiar faces for a bit of afternoon boogie!

Aside from the band, Tim has moved to Frome and is continuing to write and compose music. Ned is still in London and has recently started a garden design and landscaping company having spent the last three years as an apprentice horticulturist. He tells me “As it happens I've teamed up with a garden designer from Wells and a landscaper from Glastonbury! We west country folk do seem to find one another somehow...”
